The University of Manchester Division of Dentistry is one of the UK's top dental schools, ranked 2nd nationally and within the top 60 globally. Part of the Manchester Academic Health Science Centre, it provides dental education at the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust's dental teaching facilities. Manchester's dental programme is distinguished by its research intensity, strong clinical training, and excellent graduate outcomes. The city's large and diverse population provides students with broad clinical experience across a full range of dental conditions and treatment needs. The Division is internationally recognised for research in oral biology, dental materials, and clinical dentistry, with strong links to Manchester's world-leading health sciences research ecosystem.
Manchester Dental School was established in 1895. It became part of the Victoria University of Manchester in 1904 and merged into the current University of Manchester in 2004.
GDC accreditation since 1895. Manchester is a member of the Association of Dental Education in Europe.
